Alexandra B. McLeod
Ms. McLeod, a Supervising Attorney with the firm, is an experienced litigator with highly developed advocacy skills. She handles jury trials ranging from minor auto accidents to cases with severe injuries and corresponding high exposures. Through her years of defense of casualty cases, she has gained extensive expertise in case assessment and the full range of civil practice, including General Casualty Defense, Automobile Liability Defense, Premises Liability, Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Claims and Product Liability. She practices in the state of Nevada.Her interests include music, travel and scuba diving. She provides service through the LDS Church and is an alumna of the International Order of Rainbow Girls. She also is an avid 49ers fan.
Professional Activities
Ms. McLeod is a member of the Nevada Bar Association. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Business Law, at the University of Phoenix, Las Vegas Campus and is articulate in both oral and written Spanish as well as certified in Spanish Translation from American University, Dept. of Language & Foreign Studies.She has published "Catch-22: An Inquiry Into the Competency of Mentally Disordered Offenders to Waive Their Right to Recommitment Hearings," McGeorge Law Review, available at 32 M.L.R. 593.
Her aggressive expert discovery and shrewd pre-trial motion practice led to the effective positioning of a lawsuit involving catastrophic personal injury with TBI for settlement at a fraction of the demand. In another matter, she litigated a successful appeal that affirmed a prior jury verdict of plaintiff's 50 percent comparative negligence. In yet another case, Ms. McLeod's tenacious investigation and expert consultation led to a hard-fought, favorable settlement under policy limits in a severe cervical and lumbar surgery case.
