Kevin Mackin

Mr. Mackin is a Supervising Attorney at the firm who has been practicing law for nearly 30 years. He has a broad and varied background in defense litigation on behalf of insurance carriers, governmental entities and self-insured corporations. His legal work includes extensive trial experience with a very high percentage of success. Mr. Mackin has considerable skill in arbitration and mediation as a participant, as a former member of the arbitration panel of the American Arbitration Association, and as a settlement judge pro tempore. This has enabled him to develop an uncanny ability for evaluating cases and recommending efficient solutions for settlements or alternatively, preparing and taking a case to trial. In addition to direct litigation experience, Mr. Mackin has served as national coordinating counsel for the product liability litigation of a national manufacturer of automobiles, motorcycles, and power products. He practices in California.

His interests include scuba diving, sailing and traveling to the tropics. He is a lifelong fan of college and professional football and is a UCLA Bruin supporter.

Professional Activities

Mr. Mackin is a member of the Riverside County Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a past panel member of the American Arbitration Association and a past settlement judge pro tem for the Sacramento Superior Court.

He has been instrumental in numerous firm cases involving multiple parties and complex issues that were prepared to the brink of trial only to be settled on the eve of trial, with the exception of San Diego/Fox Hollow v. Geogrid Systems. This case was tried in April and May of 2009 to a verdict and included complex issues of geotechnical and civil engineering, construction practices and professional negligence by design professionals.
