Richard M. Widom

Mr. Widom is the Senior Managing Partner for the firm’s Worker’s Compensation Practice Group. For over 30 years, he has represented the interests of numerous self-insured employers, insurance carriers, the California Self-Insurer’s Security Fund, and California Insurance Guarantee Association. Mr. Widom has also worked with an extensive list of third party administrators in the defense of Workers’ Compensation cases in California. Prior to joining the firm, he was Co-President, Member of the Board, and Shareholder in a statewide law firm that he was instrumental in building since 1978. In 2009, Mr. Widom started the Law Offices of Richard M. Widom, LLP, which has now merged with Brady, Vorwerck, Ryder & Caspino. He brings his comprehensive dexterity and experience to the firm. Mr. Widom practices in California.

Mr. Widom enjoys golf and has been an avid Los Angeles Lakers fan since the 1960s.

Professional Activities

Mr. Widom is a member of the Council on Litigation Management and a member of the Defense Research Institute. During the 1980s, he served as a Judge Pro Tem of the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. For over 25 years, he has lectured and trained attorneys and claims professionals on matters related to the defense of Workers’ Compensation claims.
