Timothy X. Lane
Mr. Lane, a Senior Associate with the firm, has proven his legal expertise numerous times over. He has been trying and arbitrating complex products liability cases, consumer warranty claims and negligence actions for more than three decades. He has earned an outstanding reputation for prompt claims evaluation as well as development and coordination of comprehensive strategies with clients to move cases toward appropriate resolutions or to vigorously defend them through trial.His practice areas include Product Liability, Consumer Warranty Litigation, Automobile Liability Defense, General Casualty Defense, Bad Faith Litigation, Premises Liability, Business Litigation, Environmental Litigation and Asbestos Litigation Defense. He practices in California.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Lane was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps and a Naval Aviator, flying the A-4 Skyhawk single seat jet.
His interests include golf and travel. He is an avid fan of the San Diego Chargers as well as the Angels and Lakers.
He is a Past President of Toastmasters and Past President of the Saddleback Valley Men's Golf Club.
Professional Activities
Mr. Lane is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.He has successfully defended automobile, boat and premises liability actions on behalf of Volvo Cars of North America, Inc., Volvo Penta of the Americas, Inc., Harley Davidson Motor Company Group, Inc., Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc., and numerous other defendants.
Trial results include: Oropeza v. Covina Hills Mobile Country Club, in which Mr. Lane won a verdict for the defense when the plaintiff sued the owner of a mobile home park for premises liability after sustaining severe injuries in a fall. In Raywood v. Ring, he successfully defended his client, a landlord, against a tenant who sued for Breach of Implied Warranty of Habitability, Fraud, Unjust Enrichment, Violation of the Unruh Act (sexual discrimination) and Retaliatory Eviction, demanding five million dollars. The results were outstanding: non-suit on the Fraud cause of action and a defense verdict 12-0 on all other causes of action.
