Mike Caspino Obtains Defense Verdict for Marriott International in Catastrophic Injury Case

Hawley v. Residence Inn by Marriott, Inc.

Venue: Nevada - Nevada District Court
Results: Defense Verdict
Type of Case: Personal injury
Party Represented: Residence Inn by Marriott, Inc.

Gina Hawley alleged that she fell in a Marriott bathtub and sustained injuries to her back and head. Experts testified to her having suffered brain injuries as a result of the fall. Additionally, Hawley had two back surgeries and needed another. According to her experts, Hawley could no longer work and needed substantial future medical care. Hawley is the mother of three young children.

After a three week trial, Michael Caspino obtained a defense verdict for Marriott International, arguing that the actions of the firm's client were not the cause of Ms. Hawley's injuries. The jury returned a unanimous verdict in 37 minutes.
